Heartburn Entertainment

Brief

This is a website developed for a particularly fiery entertainment company. As a new business with an existing website they required something that they could easily update themselves with both news items and new images. They also needed something that would reach a wider audience by appealing to search engine traffic.

Design

The brief for this design was that they wanted something grungy and gothic, but at the same time keeping it clean and easy to read. It was challenging, but we think the end result works very well at achieving this. We used a serif font throughout for headings and the menu items, and a rough textured edge for the site border. We also chose a particularly striking image from Heartburn's collection for the top banner to give it some spark!

Development

As with other sites we have completed, we chose not to use a ready made Content Management System for this project. We implemented an image upload form, with cropping functionality for the individual galleries. We also incorporated a news feed with RSS that they could easily update. Lastly we included a testimonials system so that customers could leave their feedback about the service they had received.
