Brief

This is a website developed for a craft person from Cumbria. In many ways the client was happy with his previous website, however it was rapidly becoming technologically outdated. The content was also difficult to keep up-to-date. Whilst sticking to a similar design we set out to create a new, modern site that is incredibly easy to update.

Design

Simplicity. Familiarity. Easy to use. These are phrases that were bounced about before designing this website. The previous site worked well for visitors to the site to find their way around. For this reason, Peter saw no reason to change the basic layout and navigation for the new website.

Development

For the purpose of creating a site that was simple to keep up-to-date, we developed a bespoke Content Management System (CMS) that allows the client to upload new products to each of the five galleries. Using the CMS he can also update home page images, two separate news feeds and the reciprocal linking page. As with all our projects, an important part is for the website to appear on the first page of search engines for many keywords and phrases.
